"Mom! What is blood?" I asked, after observing a cut I had received from falling off my bike. I was only about 4 years old at the time but constantly bugging my mother (a registered nurse) with endless questions. At home my bears had all the signs of a war veteran freshly returned from a tour of duty - legs and arms wrapped with gauze and bandages.
As I got older, my passion for naturopathic medicine blossomed due to my own past personal struggles and from the experiences of others around me. I slowly began to discover that medicine and healing came from both the inside and out. This interest in medicine led me to complete my undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto and a 4 year doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine. During my internship - I had the opportunity to work with patients with various health conditions both at the Robert Shad Naturopathic Clinic and at the Brampton Civic Hospital. I am a member of and in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario, Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors. .Today, with every new patient that walks through my door I desire to continue learning through life experiences and to share in that experience and knowledge with all of my patients. My goal as a naturopathic doctor is to extend and illustrate the truth that the human body is designed to heal - we just need to guide and direct it correctly. Ultimately, I am here to help my patients create healthy perceptions of their reality and to help them overcome the barriers and challenges that stand in the way of them feeling better mentally, physically, and emotionally.
